Solar Energy batteries

hi there, does anyone know how you can get your solar energy batteries checked out for the length of their battery life? i.e we have batteries but how long are they going to last?
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has expertise in this subject, not just companies who install solar energy, as we are not in a position to renew any batteries at this point in time.
thank you in advance,

Hi,
it is very difficult to answer this question, especially when manufacturer, type of battery, size (volt and Ampere) of the single batteries and installation date is not known. also, size of connected PV system, charger, connected DC-AC inverter, daily use and so on are not only helpful, it is mandatory to know.

in general you can "estimate" the battery life when you supply these data, eg,from your installing solar company, who did offer and sold you a system based on your use.

whether the company sold you a system which met your requirements (or is in general too small as you did not have the budget or he wanted to be cheaper as others) , or, whether you did comply to this is needs after the system was installed (and not, eg, you added 5 fridges to the system afterwards...) , is another question.

of course, a good solar company should be able to do a calculation to the "current situation", and you then have a "rough" idea what the situation is... but who is "good"? and why do you not ask your installer?

of course "basic" accu measurements must be done before someone can say anything.

but, i can assure you, a really proper battery capacity measurement machine is expensive and time spending, especially when it comes to big batteries as, eg, 2 Volt 600 Ah blocs. a 500 euro machine will not tell you anything.
learn: the capacity of the whole bank always depends on the weakest battery. so, it is important to measure every single battery. and, you need "reference data" for a new battery, this you can get from the manufacturer. or your solar installer (?).

of course, there are possibilities of "sort of renewing", or better, "reactivating" the bank ( a bit, not to "new") , but this also needs someone experienced, is time spending and limits the use of the system while doing this.
and, it is not always successful, or, not successful for all of the single batteries.
