We have had all the above for the last 2 nights.

apparently it's coming from the Maldives site where Emily's bar used to be. I was under the impression that fireworks were not allowed in the TRNC, but it looks like that does not apply any longer. What really does surprise me is , that it is only a few weeks ago that the government put out warnings about fires and then we get rockets landing who knows where every night. If there is a big fire then it might stop, until then??????

Last night was a recipe for disaster. Very strong wind blowing, parched dry surrounding fields, and fireworks landing everywhere.
We were so lucky that there was not a major fire started. Not to mention the loud music !

Just wondering, would this be on the same site that completely ignored the lockdown when it was in force and everywhere else had to close down??

Funnily enough Inverno... He was on the radio the other day, lol!!

Joking aside - the firework situation is worrying. I hate them for the obvious danger and for the sake of the poor animls - especially those kept chained up outdoors.

We live next door to the Maldives site . On Thursday there was a Wedding, with a few fireworks. On Friday it was the official opening of the Maldives, and the beach. This was attended by the President, and all his followers. The fireworks went on for 30 minutes, and a lot of the ash was in our garden. If any of you know the Maldives site, they have 9 villas with thatched roofs. God help us.

As for very expensive houses with thatch roofs adjacent to fireworks going off ...........You just couldn't make it up.
