Quick question re travelling back to UK from Larnaca…
Hi All,
I know this has been covered by a number of knowledgeable posters however I cannot seem to find the up to date info - when flying back from Larnaca to the UK will I still need to get a PCR test to cross the border into the South - I assume that the test is not needed to enter the UK now due to the rule changes (AZ jabs)?
Many thanks for your help..

Re: Quick question re travelling back to UK from Larnaca…
You just need an Antigen Test - Negative, if double vaccinated. If not double Vaccinated then you need a 72hr PCR test.

Do you just need an antigen test to return to the UK via Larnaca (double nhs jabbed) from now or from 4th October when UK requirements change ?

Best place for up to date information is the UK government website, you can also subscribe so you get the latest updates by email. They change so much it's hard to keep up...

If double jabbed by NHS, then you just need negative Antigen Test. My ex-foster child left last Friday and was able to board plane at Larnaca with TRNC Gov Negative Antigen result.

Antigen / Lateral Flow tests, any reason we can't bring these out with us from UK? Simply do the test and upload result to NHS app in under 10 mins.

Needs to be done by a private provider, how would they know who did the test otherwise.Antigen / Lateral Flow tests, any reason we can't bring these out with us from UK? Simply do the test and upload result to NHS app in under 10 mins.
Where to take your test
You will need to find a private test provider to take a test.
You can choose to take a test:
in the place where you start your journey
in another country on your way to England, if you are travelling through another country

72hr negative Antigen Test. Must be within 72hrs when you arrive in UK.

Interesting. Why not give it a go, but also do a 72hrs Antigen Test to be on the safe side.

Re: Quick question re travelling back to UK from Larnaca…
This is the problem, open to abuse etc but i would assume as it's only required pre-departure to return to the UK then it's fine to take the ones with us that are recognised by the UK / NHS etc. I'm assuming these would therefore be ok with the GC's as well. No harm in trying but as Soner suggested, we'll get a local one in TRNC as well to be safe.come_on_aylin wrote: ↑Wed 22 Sep 2021 10:38 amHow would they know who did the test otherwise.Antigen / Lateral Flow tests, any reason we can't bring these out with us from UK? If you check the link I attached in my previous post(and the text I copied from it), it clearly says on the UK government website that it must be performed by a private provider. This is the problem, open to abuse etc but i would assume as it's only required pre-departure to return to the UK then it's fine to take the ones with us that are recognised by the UK / NHS etc. I'm assuming these would therefore be ok with the GC's as well. Antigen/LFD is acceptable when travelling to UK. This test is quicker and can get results within 30 minutes: https://basvuru.lab.gov.ct.tr/?signup=true&lang=enSugarpuffbear wrote: ↑Sun 05 Dec 2021 9:12 amWhere to purchase a quick PCR test with results that day please?
See instructions on "How to book Antigen Test in TRNC" at bottom of this page: viewtopic.php?p=277052#p277052
