Road Tax Online Problem - Fixed

Anyone else had this response from the "OnLine" Road Tax site - "This Connection is Invalid. SSL certificate expired." - ???

This is from bub.gov.ct.tr and returns the following information:

Certificate Validity
Not Before: Aug 19 08:27:11 2021 GMT
Not After: Nov 17 08:27:09 2021 GMT

Has always worked before but suddenly now not valid! Can not find another URL that will let me pay - any clues? I use Safari on my Mac but also the same on Chrome.

Morning Chris. Thanks for that. Looks like their SSL (Security Certificate) has expired and they have not spotted it yet. Will have to wait and see if they get onto it later on this month before I can pay my road tax - hey ho.

Could take them months before they realise and update SSL cert.

As the tax office use the same web site I think a visit there will be a non starter - lol. I think it is a plot to keep the Brits from going South - or anywhere else - but I am sure it will be sorted in the fullness of time. I have heard - from TC mates - that there is a new web site “supposed” to be there in place of the one that was working till last night! Good job we have a month to pay next years road tax in - lol.

forest pixie - Sorry, black and white writing not the same as speaking! Plot is a JOKE.

SATRANÇ - MoT is part of the same site so that will be unobtainable till fixed also.

Still not working as of this time!

I do not wish to appear smug but I probably will.
It is 19 months since we were here last and my little car (Maruti) needed everything renewing. The insurance was done yesterday but today we did the emissions test (at Mert) paid the road tax (plus fine) and the MOT at the tax office and then had the MOT done. It was all finished in about 2 hours !
I still cannot quite believe it !

wrymouth, good for you, nice to see things do work here now and again. As for the Road Tax Website, it looks like it is up and running again - I won't say it is working as I can not tax my car - using the details off my last tax certificate which ran out today - as my vehicle is not registered anymore!!!

You could make this up, but why bother when the Tax office has made it up for me - lol. Try again tomorrow - maybe.

I have always believed that when you are wrong then you must own up to being wrong - no matter what the consequences may be!!!

Regarding message 15 above - The failure in the system was due to an idiot on the keyboard at my end of the system! In other words, my latest attempts to pay my Road Tax online failed due to my own stupidity!

The online system is up and running again the same as normal - timed at 08:37 - I have paid and printed off my Road Tax receipt and am happy again. The whole problem, once the system came back on line yesterday, was due to missing off the Letter "P" in front of the passport number - stupid mistake but all my fault.

Worth remembering through.

Did the same thing. You must insert the letter P in front of the passport number before it will work. Of course everyone knew about the letter P. Yes of course we did Malcolm!

I am having so much success today that I thought I would pay the electric bill as well - why not, it’s only money - lol. Used the same URL as normal i.e. clicked on the word on my emailed bill, checked the details were correct and clicked on “Pay” - Error 404 - why me???

Ended up paying via PayPoint with no troubles - lol. Now just waiting for Turkcell bill so I can screw up three out of three and go back to sleep!

Hmmm trying to renew tax and normally if you renew verification code several times it eventually goes through but today it's not, any suggestions,? I've input everything correctly as I've been through this system a number of times.

Just done mine, all went through perfectly.

https://online-vergi.gov.ct.tr/gvdos_on ... 396c74a6f7

How to pay for tax disc.
You can only pay for it on, or after the day it is due, NOT BEFORE. You have 1 month to renew, and pay for it, or charges start.

Write your licence plate registration in CAPITAL LETTERS without spaces. *****

Your ID Number is the number you first used when registering the car upon purchase. In many cases it is your passport number (The passport you had at the time) preceded by a capital (P) P********* (assuming your passport was used for the initial registration, this ID number will always stay the same from when the car was first registered.)

If you then write **/**/**** (Date the car was FIRST registered, Not the date that you want the tax to start from,) Use the calendar to put the date in, Year first, then Month, then Day. NOT today's date, you can then login to the system.

Verify with the code at the bottom to prove that you are not a robot.

The details of the car will then come up, and what payment is due.

On the LHS, the option should be to pay tax, (Seyrusefer Borcu Odeme) click on that, and follow the process.

When you have made payment, an option will come up for you to download, and print.

The “Title Issuing Date (Koçan Düzenleme Tarihi)” is the “Date of Vehicle Title Transfer (Araç Mülkiyet Devir Tarihi)” for registrations issued before 06.01.2020 and “Belge Düzenleme Tarihi (Registration Document Issue Date) for those issued after 06.01.2020.

Make sure you use the correct date - I fell foul of this by using the date the car was registered as shown on the front of the log book, as my car was registered on the 8-10-2010 the date I had to use was the date the vehicle was transferred into my name!!!!!

The SSL cert notice disappeared about 3 hrs ago, I can now get into the site I just can't renew it, first is says ID is wrong (it's not) P is added btw then it asks me to check verification code.

I've cleared history on laptop and phone... I despair. Seems like a morning at the tax office before wirk tomorrow......sigh.
