Roads are quiet now and when we returned from town there were just a couple of cars in K Pet at Karakum with no queue at all.

I filled up this morning in Alsancak, both the garage on the corner next to the roundabout before the new park had fuel, as well as the pump car rental one near Ileli. I asked the guy and he said deliveries were on their way, 98 unleaded in my case.

Re: Petrol anywhere
It does seem to be 98 and Euro diesel on its way, but that's not what we have, unless filling up with 98 rather than 95 won't make any difference?

98 is considered to be better for the vehicle in comparison to 95. Unleaded is Unleaded I assume, 95 or 98

Check before you fill! A lot of Japanese engines run on 95 and will also run on 98, a problem may occur when 95 becomes available again and you revert to running on 95 instead of 98 - or so my dealer tells me!
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Always a seeker of truth!! Following up on my "Dealers" advice I did a good old Google Search for information - in lay peoples terms - and came up with this one from New Zealand: https://www.mta.org.nz/motoring-tips/91 ... ch-to-use/ worth a read and I learnt from it as well.
Common concensus across the writers of articles on fuel octanes is about the same - use what it says in the handbook but you can use higher if you want to spend the money - lol.
Of course in Cyprus it is different - first you have to find the petrol, any petrol!!!

According to the great LGC euro diesel is being delivered whilst 95 is being rationed

We have diesel car, so no problem for us. Most of the taxis, lorries and public services vehicles run on diesel, so they will keep them running. I filled up at Green garage, Alsancak this morning, place was empty. I was really surprised, but they had no petrol.

Re: Petrol anywhere
Yesterday, no petrol at Alpet at end of bypass, "comeback in 15 minutes". 15 later a large tanker arrived, emptied his load. Beckoned forward and told, "you can have 100tl of 95 but no more" which was great because that's all we wanted.
