Deed query
Finally got our Deeds today, exactly a year after purchase.
Anyone know why is our full address not written on the Deed, only the town? Is this normal?
I have asked our Lawyer twice but their answers are as much use as a chocolate teapot. They said addresses are never written on Deeds but not why, only the "reference according to cadaster" and they didn't say what that meant either.
Also why 2 Deeds, one in my name and one in my wifes' name?

Mine is the same. I think it harks back to the not so distant past (pre 2005) where most roads etc were not named and addresses did not really exist. The land registry is the Tapu ve Kadastro Dairesi. "A cadastral map is a comprehensive land recording of the real estate or real property's metes-and-bounds of a country. In most countries, legal systems have developed around the original administrative systems and use the cadastre to define the dimensions and location of land parcels described in legal documentation." Wikipedia
You have two deeds as you each own 50% of the property.

I think the deeds give the land and plot number.MnM wrote: ↑Thu 21 Oct 2021 10:38 amFinally got our Deeds today, exactly a year after purchase.

The road names can change with the wind direction.

Re: Deed query
MnM, don't be surprised, there are hundreds and hundreds of us. Problem being, we bought property based on old measurements based on chains, then the dreaded GPS came into force, and we found properties built in wrong place, wrong way round and built across area destined to be a road. The Tapu in is infinite wisdom decided that we had to abide by GPS measurements i.e. retrospectively. We will almost certain never obtain our Title Needs, which knocks at least 75,000 off asking price of property should we decided to sell. Hence think yourself lucky.
