Anyone know the name of the Turkish cooking rice that is not the sticky rice?
Bought some other week, cooked really well, not sticky, but poured it into my jar and threw the packet away!

Could it have been jasmine rice, which is a long grain rice?

In future, cut the name off the packet and attach it to the storage container, or write the name down in Turkish on a label and attach.

alphamike, you've been in my kitchen.!!! I cut the labels of just about everything and stick on container, even flour as I can't tell one from the other

Lol BB. I find it helps me to remember the Turkish name of things when I see them on a constant basis when shopping, not that I'd remember the words in actual conversation.
Shopping list I out the Turkish name down as well as English for some things that I don't buy often.

You have to label different flours, that just makes sense to me. What did confuse me years ago was cornflour, which is actual cornflour, not to be confused with cornflour in UK, which is corn starch here (and probably everywhere else in the world).

Could it possibly be Bulgur "rice", also known as Bulgur wheat?
"Bulgur has a nutty flavour and can be served as a side dish, similar to rice or couscous..."

As an aside - two lists that may be useful; I probably find them somewhere on this forum at some time, but I can't find them now, so have uploaded from my files...
English/Turkish translation of food etc
and
what fish to eat in which season (English/Turkish)
