Shipping a box from U K to TRNC
Does anyone have any experience of shipping a box from UK to TRNC recently. I have previously used KMR but they have suspended this service temporarily so is there any recommendations for another company that do this service?

Yes Kelebek are still operating as i used them end of 2021. However they are very hard to get hold of.
possibly a better option is Cenk Gazioglu, [email protected]
If you email him he will forward details, I have used them once about 2 years ago and i emailed him recently and his rates are inline with KMR

Kelebek are very hard to tie down with varying phone numbers depending which country he is in. In the end my son took my items to his yard and handed them over to his neighbour who gave them to Arif Kelebek when he arrived. Sounds a bit hit and miss but they are very good at getting unusual sized items to TRNC but as i said not really user friendly in terms of communication

Ramazan and Arif Kelebek are also on Facebook. You can message them via that platform.
I have never had an issue when communicating with either Arif or Ramazan via phone, txt or Messenger. Having said that, they do know me.
Perhaps a random missed call from an unrecognised number or txt from same goes ignored. It’s what l often do too.

I spoke to Ramadan yesterday and he said Arif was in UK but tried his UK number and not answering. I phone Euromed and their prices are the same as KMR so might try them.

Re: Shipping a box from U K to TRNC
A friend of mine had a box brought out from the UK by Euromed. Cost £30, same as KMR, but it took 2 months to get here and she had to go to Famagusta to both clear the box through customs and collect it! When you live in Karşıyaka going to Famagusta is a long drive. Plus, it took her over 2 hours to clear the box through customs and that was with a native speaker.
KMR was MUCH better service!
Don't know if this is true but I have heard that Dolphin movers are offering this service now. No idea of cost or conditions, but might be worth enquiring.

Re: Shipping a box from U K to TRNC
I booked a box in with Euromed. It got to their warehouse on 2nd February and they are saying it should arrive here this week. I know I will have to go to Famagusta to customs but will let you know when it does arrive.
I have been really impressed with the service from Cenk in UK.

When sending boxes to and from UK or reverse, how do you sort out the insurance business?. Assuming of course that you do insure the contents. Plus, has anyone send anything fragile?

Thanks cjtill, I'll phone round and see if the stuff is too fragile to risk it and the best way to pack it up.

From our experience, insurance from KMR, and others, is only for total loss, not damage.

Oh dear, that's a bit disappointing. I'll ring around, don't want to risk it otherwise, a bit fragile. (not me, the items!)

Re: Shipping a box from U K to TRNC
Picked up my box on Wednesday from Famagusta. Had to go to Euromed first and then customs with necessary paperwork. Then I was taken to the warehouse and they opened my box and wrote the contents on the paperwork .I then had to take that back to customs to be signed off and then go back to the warehouse to collect my box. All in it probably took 3/4 of an hour. The downside was that I had a few bags of dog treats in my box which the rats took a fancy to. So there were 2 holes in my box and the bags of treats pulled out and eaten!!! Everything else in the box was ok.

No there wasn't anything to pay duty on. I had various items and the guy that searched the box said he would just state used clothes as the contents but obviously it depends what you have in the box.

Re: Shipping a box from U K to TRNC
If anyone is wishing to send a package or packages, large or small, from London to Lapta in the next two weeks, Arif Kelebek is preparing to take another container across.
Contact Arif Kelebek on this number:
07450 305080
Arif is based in Peckham, SE London. He may be willing to pick up.
Please direct any questions to Arif to get the answer direct from the horses mouth, so to speak.
Yes, l will be using Arif’s service once again. Probably around the 20th time l will have done so as a paying customer.

Is this a UK number as I have just tried it without the UK prefix and it is a wrong number?
