pcr tests
what do forum members think the timescale might be in dropping the pcr test for entry requirement to the trnc.
The costs of them in the UK is ridiculous and the TRNC tourist industry probably needs a boost this spring?
yes, it does put people off!

Re: pcr tests
Fit To Fly PCR tests in UK available at £75 each with courier to lab if dropped off at selected points by 1pm you get e-mail result within 24 hours. Used to be £99. We used MedicSpot and can't fault their customer service even after hours. Yes it is still ridiculous even at £75 considering it was £10 each in TRNC when we last came home. Hopefully the TV ad in the UK will boost our tourism in TRNC this year but there will be a lot of counties vying for it.

Re: pcr tests
Now I'm confused. Thought PCR tests were being dropped 1st march. Then just an antigen test on arrival at the north border that you pay 90 TL for. Just all very confusing

Re: pcr tests
Best to check the thread "Help with Covid Rules in TRNC & RoC to date" at the top of the forum.
For me, coming from UK, being double vaccinated and boosted, currently TRNC would require me to have negative result Fit to Fly PCR test within 48 hours of departure, no quarantine, but possible Antigen / PCR test on arrival.
Unvaccinated = 5 days quarantine on arrival in TRNC and PCR test on day 5.
In each case the StaySafe app is required but I've not looked to far into that at the moment.
Coming to UK from TRNC for double vaccinated & boosted requires no pre-departure testing or Day 2 testing after arrival.
Unvaccinated = negative result PCR test within 48 hours after return flight.
In each case Passenger Locator Form required within 48 hours before return flight.
That's my understanding but if anything is not quite right i apologise in advance and will no doubt stand corrected shortly.

Re: pcr tests
You maybe mixing up with UK requirements from 1st March, TRNC currently different rules. Personally I think the UK plan is stupid and asking for trouble. Hopefully airline's will still insist on a PCR test

Nothing to do with airlines, it is about the requirements of the country!

Re: pcr tests
72 hour PCR test to enter TRNC by air or Sea. Now appear pointless.
Antigen test only required to enter RoC by air or sea & Cross land boarder to TRNC

Re: pcr tests
If flying into Larnaca, then crossing to TRNC you need to have 72hr Negative PCR test to cross over at checkpoints. Unless you stay in RoC for 10 days, then you can cross over with a Negative Antigen Test.
