Does anyone have any contact info for this group. They exist because they met the President recently. Nothing on Google and Cyprus Today said they simply reported a press release from the Presidency.
TIA.

[email protected] That is the email address of the Ukrainian Embassy in Nicosia - Republic of Cyprus this one is the email address of the Consular:
[email protected]

They are probably (Ukrainians) in the same sort of boat as the British in the North of Cyprus - their Embassy being in the RoC as is the British Embassy. The hope is that their High Commissioner or equivalent is more concerned about his people than the BHC is about theirs!

President Ersin Tatar meets with members of Ukrainian community: “Turkish Cypriots are ready to do their utmost for the Ukrainians in these difficult days”
04.03.2022 16:54
President Ersin Tatar received members of the Ukrainian community where he underlined his will to see an immediate end to the attack and for this to be replaced with diplomacy and restoration of peace.

The President expressed that the Turkish Cypriots, like the whole world, “are deeply saddened by the war between Ukraine and Russia” and underlined his concern about the loss of life and humanitarian tragedy. Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people are working to provide humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people, President Tatar said that he “commends the work by different groups and Ukranian nationals residing in the TRNC in raising vital humanitarian aid” to help the victims of this war.

Noting that the Turkish Cypriots, as a people who suffered from war, are aware of the human tragedy of the Ukrainians very well, President Tatar underlined that the “Turkish Cypriot are ready to do their utmost for the Ukrainians in these difficult days”.

Officials of the Ukrainians Association put forward their expectation for help to be given from the TRNC, especially in relation to immigration procedures of the Ukrainians living in the TRNC. President Tatar said that these requests were currently being evaluated by the Ministry of Interior and expressed his wish for the war in Ukraine to end immediately and for the sides to resort to peaceful diplomacy.

Presidential Undersecretary Okan Donangil also participated in the meeting.

So what to do! My suggestion is this; however, will fall on deaf ears on an inept bankrupt non-governing, government!

Residents of TRNC with accommodation to spare and wish to do so and help these bereft refugees register with a Govt. Department of what they have to offer. For instance, one spare large bedroom would suit mother & baby, a villa with two free bedrooms a mother and two pre-teen kids with preferences of second languages spoken etc, etc. 4000 Tl per month from the Government to aid and help in food, clothes and all provisions that are needed. The host will also be obliged to contribute considerably more. All security checks for hosts and suitability of homes to be addressed by the authorities. Period of time would be minimum of 6 months to be extended if all is well.
THY should request the ACC Chicago air convention to forgo restricted 'non-stop' flights to Ercan from Poland, Slovakia, Moldova, Romania on humanitarian grounds or just do it anyway.
On arrival all refugee parents to be biometric photographed and fingerprinted and transported to host accommodation. They will have little or no paperwork.

Too far fetched for North Cyprus to grasp though if implemented would gain many brownie points in the international arena!

Possibly classed as Illegal Immigrants? Nothing would surprise me, despite assurances from the powers that be and regardless of brownie points.

From BBC News - "The UK could act as a guarantor to ensure the terms of any peace deal between Ukraine and Russia are honoured, the armed forces minister is hinting.
James Heappey is asked on BBC Breakfast whether or not the UK would consider offering to act as a "backstop" to protect Ukraine in the event of any future Russian military action, if Ukraine accepted Russia's demand for Ukraine to undergo a disarmament process."
That's OK then, very reassuring.....

The UK act as a guarantor? Not got a very good record in that area have they? If I was a Ukrainian I think I would prefer another country as a guarantor - somewhere like Fiji or maybe Iceland would seem to be a better bet - lol.
