Rotating power Cuts possible again?
This story was in the Kibris Postasi dated 12/01/23. I didn't notice any power cuts, but until the fix the issue you can but wonder if this will continue until they do!
"There will be alternating power outages across the country today due to generator failure
Due to the generator failure that occurred in Teknecik Power Plant today, one and a half hour alternating cuts will be made throughout the country.
In the statement made by the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority, it was reported that due to the generator failure that occurred in Teknecik Power Plant today, 1 and a half hour alternating cuts will be made across the country between 18.00 and 22.00.
The statement said, "Since the electrical energy may be delivered later or earlier than the specified time depending on the course of the work, it is important to act as if there is electricity in the network at any time. We request the public to take the necessary measures in order not to experience any unjust treatment, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused."

Re: Rotating power Cuts possible again?
Off for nearly 8 hours in Karşıyaka, from 1:20 until nearly 8pm! No fun at all, also no information from Kibtek apart from the information regarding the 90 minute power cuts!! As it went off at lunch time there surely was enough time to put information in their pre recorded message!

According to the locals, it was as plain as the nose on your face that power cuts, be they long or short, would recommence as soon as the Elections were over. But will there be an compensations at the end of each month.............. will there hell as like.

Re: Rotating power Cuts possible again?
Kibtek have announced that there will be 30 minute cuts across the country between 11am and 5pm today.
We had a little blip in Esentepe about 8.30am but the power's still on, normally we go down at same time as Bahçeli so could it be a more localised problem? Can't see anything on FB re a Bahçeli cut so might be worth ringing their helpline to see if the recorded message says anything.

Re: Rotating power Cuts possible again?
Went off in Catalkoy at 08:50 and back on at around 10:10 - maybe it took some time to catch up to yesterday's planned "rotation" or maybe it was early in today's? Who can tell what and where the next one will happen, certainly not Kibtek - lol.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

latest:
"According to the statement made by Kıb-Tek, there will be a planned power cut across the country today.
Kıb-Tek's explanation is as follows:
“PLANNED INTERRUPTION ( TRNC GENERAL)
Due to the continuation of the generator failure at Teknecik Power Plant on Saturday, January 14, 2023, 1-hour alternating interruptions will be made across the country between 11:00 and 17:00. It is important to act as if there is electricity in the network at all times, since electrical energy may be supplied later or earlier than the specified time, depending on the course of the work. We ask the public to take the necessary measures in order not to experience any unjust treatment, and we apologize for the inconvenience.”

Re: Rotating power Cuts possible again?
We had two in Tatlisu. One back of 11:00 and the second was about 18:30 for about an hour. Kibtek did put announcements out about both power cuts being in all areas.
I really wish they would let us know at what time we should expect these power cuts, particularly in the dark. They did it eventually last winter, so why not do it again now?

Re: Rotating power Cuts possible again?
What you have to remember is, they could be working the power cuts around the times when electricity is at its most expensive. i.e. not too many cuts in the evening. They want he money!!!!!

Re: Rotating power Cuts possible again?
But it's expensive in the evening I believe, that's if anyone switched to the multi tariff and generally they are evening cuts
