Is the phone registered here or are you using a UK mobile network provider?

Can you successfully phone UK from your phone?

Can you phone out to local numbers and receive calls from local numbers?

More Qs than anything by way of an answer l’m afraid. Just trying to understand the limits or expanse of the problem.

Yes registered here and I get local calls and can phone local.
And I can phone the UK no problems

I Googled “ Xiaomi phone not receiving calls from uk”. There is advice out there that may help you and your phone.
