Proms in the Park No 5 - Wed 26th September 2018

The RBL Kyrenia branch is getting ready to conduct their fifth consecutive ‘Proms in the Park’ event in mid-September. Branch Secretary, Pamela Padden, who is organising this year’s event said: “This is definitely a favourite in our annual calendar and there is no better way to enjoy this quintessentially British experience than in the lovely park setting of The Wild Duck Café in Lapta
We encourage everyone attending to get into the mood, bring flags and bunting and dress up in true ‘Proms’ style. Please bring blankets if you want to sit on the grass but only plastic glasses are allowed due to the danger to children playing afterwards.”
The event takes place on Wednesday 26th September and this year. The Café will be open from 4pm for food and drinks. You are requested to pre-book your food orders directly with the Café due to the expected rush, with tables of 6 or 9 available. A special Proms menu will be available and you will be expected to show your entry ticket when requested. The main gate will be manned from 6pm for the general public and the show, which will be screened on 2 giant screens, will commence at 7pm and finish around 10pm. Tickets are 10tl to RBL members, 15tl to non-members and are available from the following outlets: The Wild Duck Café in Lapta, Bestseller Bookshop in Alsancak, the RBL stall at Lambousa Market on 8th, 15th and 22nd September.

What ticket outlets exist east of Girne, please? We are RBL members but live 40 kms east of Girne centre and a lot further on than that from your listed sites. I guess it is a west-based function, yet again - tongue in cheek! Will the RBL Kyrenia Branch ever organise a major function near Esentepe or Tatlisu I wonder?

Dukes many thanks will get in touch as soon as we arrive. A neighbour of mine quite fancies it also. She lives there full time. Will check with her if she can call in at the Wild Duck. Soon as I know I'll be back in touch. Many thanks for your assistance.

And don't forget anyone can join the RBL, you don't need to have served in the armed forces

Hi and thanks for coming along and supporting the RBL. Sorry but there was no microphone so we were not able to announce who won or able to thank all those who helped us raise over 3,000tl. Nina won the only completed card and donated her winnings back to the RBL. Thank you again Nina. The other cards were not completed but for info the numbers on the other 2 Roulette cards were 23 and 12 and the Football teams were Bournemouth and Wolves.
