£1,000 or £2,000 - anything that they think that they can get from a foreigner...

Either do yourself or get a noter to do for you. Very much cheaper than any lawyer!

If you use a lawyer for the whole purchase process then it will include PTP application and help with transfer of title deeds for around £1500, a small price to pay for peace of mind and help navigating the bureaucracy!

We sought peace of mind when we engaged “lawyers” 14 years ago in 2006 .We are still awaiting Kokan and peace of mind.

We used a “lawyer” (Advocate) when purchasing our property. Whilst I understand the frustration of some, I will say that our lawyer did a good job, property purchase went smoothly, PTP took a little longer but no issues and once completed we received our Kocan. All included in the price.

I have been told that using a Noter for things like PTP, Wills etc is often a cheaper option and worth investigating.

My TC friend has helped many people to apply for PTP. She will go with you to Lefkoşa to apply in person. You will need to take the following documents:

A kocan of the land at least
Site plan
Photo copy of applicant's passport
UK police report
Stamp money

She charges £50. Please PM for her contact info.
