It will only appear circa twenty days before expiry of your existing residency.

Then you get to join the long, long line of people waiting and waiting. Now entering year 15 and the first time I have been here as an illegal! Wonder what my fine will be for not getting it done on time - lol.

Well somebody must be working in there - how else would all the students get their bits of paper to allow them to stay? Oh wait, figured it out at last - the students bring in lots of money for the Uni's don't they - lol.

If you have started the residency process then you are not classified as illegal.

steveodp, haven't started yet, had to go to Land Registry and get some original paper work that has been lost of the last 19 years. No problem though, pay 100tl and brand spanking new paperwork. Computerised and not scribbled on by a demented spider.

It's not, I've just done mine. When it is 21 or fewer days until your residency expires it will offer a renew button.

A picture of your current residency appears on the page. When it is time to renew if you scroll down to the bottom right of the certificate you'll get a renew button.

I should have replied to this but I've had quite a lengthy email correspondence with Hammerhead re the process.

Had our police appointments this morning, not busy at all. Short wait while the documents were checked. Just remember it's the left hand window that does residency applications.

Who decided that to renew ones Residency; it should be started online no sooner than 20 days prior to ones previous Residency expires, AND NO SOONER. When the old and previous time scale to apply for a renewal was at lest two (2) months worked just fine!! With that time scale there was NONE of this distress as there is NOW under this new online system. As in most cases when the 20 days has expired, ones application is no where near completion and your current Residency Visa has expired. Then people start worrying that they might be illegal, face a fine this along with many other issues where a current Residency Visa is required. As the saying goes; IF IT WORKS, DON’T MEND IT. We have now joined that long list of expats waiting for our online application to run it’s coarse. We apply to renew our Residency’s within the required 20days and now our Residency’s has expired. Worried, no! Been here now 11years; this is the TRNC and as the saying goes:- Yelling Inshallah Tamam.

I did the computer work for a friend and his police appointment was yesterday (Tuesday) at 5:26
Naturally I was surprised at this as i've never known them work past 1pm but that's what it said so off he went.
When he got there it was shut and he was told the computer made a mistake!

Think I'll tell him to take a screenshot then just go at a random time in the morning.
