Love lies Bleeding - Dicentra spectabilis
I bought this in England in February this year and it's doing really well. Will it cope with the hot summer? Any advice??

I love this plant and have a few here in Scotland, but and I am no expert, I think it would shrivel up in the heat in North Cyprus. Maybe better to ask http://www.allexperts.com/
good luck and let me know how you get on please.
cheers

I've read up about it and it seems as long as you do not put it in the full sun and also never let it dry out, they will flower, then when it gets too hot it will die back but very likely will have another go at flowering in autumn. Even in the dormant period it must not dry out, but not be soggy either. I will report back!!

That is interesting - but to me it sounds like very high maintenance for a plant not really designed for North Cyprus climate. But I do so love it - all best wishes with it. Have you bought one in North Cyprus?
Please let me know how you get on? The plants I have of it here in Scotland only ever flower just now April/May ( once a year)
cheers

journey1, I keep all my favourite plants near the front door, where I go first thing in the morning, I feed the cats, and the goats and chickens and then I look at my plants , dead head them and generally faff around with them. then I make a cup of tea and sit and admire them. A bit of morning waking up therapy.
