Dealing with snails

Dealing with snails
Any tips on dealing with snails please. They are in abundance on my horseradish and I have just planted out some cabbages which I don't want to be next.
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

Garlic butter for snails, horseradish is nice with smoked salmon though.

I think I read somewhere that a saucer of coke will attract them and also kill them. The sugar attracts and the acid in the drink kills. Allegedly!
