Depends on what sort of life you want and what area you choose to live?

New residency in Türkiye is now very difficult to get even as a homeowner.

Having lived in both, I think safety, welfare, peace, climate, people, community... NC wins every time if you have a bit of constant €, $ or £ stream.
Besides, you can always explore Turkey as a tourist with your car for an adventure (highly recommended). You'll be amazed by the cultural diversity.

Totally agree Stereotomy. Thoroughly enjoyed the early days of living in TR but a lot changed and, for us, living here in KKTC is much easier and less stressful.

I agree with the two previous postings. We lived in Turkey for 10 years and 9 years here, nearly impossible to get residency in Turkey 99% are being rejected for new applicants, with a total ban in some areas. Getting residency may be getting more complicated in the TRNC but the last time I did it in Turkey it involved queuing for over 30 hours, it also costs nearly as much for one months residency and health insurance in Turkey as it costs in the TRNC for one year. Turkey is better for holidays but here is much better to live.
