Re: VPN - saw this link - what do you think
Been a trick for ages.
Different countries have different content, much of it depends on various different copyright deals apparently.
America has far more content than the UK but you might find a particular new film you fancy may be showing just in Brazil say.
There are sites that list what content is shown where.
You do need to sign out I find.
So if your VPN is set for the UK, you sign out change the VPN to America and sign back into Netflix and then Netflix will show you their American content because they believe you are in the U.S.
You might have to play around with the different servers for each country on your VPN as Netflix are always having an ongoing battle to block VPNs but generally the VPN companies manage to stay one step ahead.

What is it you want the VPN for Dippersgirl?
If it's for watching tv from abroad, you might be better off using a Smart DNS, which doesn't slow down internet connection as a VPN can.

If you already have a VPN then getting more choices on Netflix is pretty easy as I mentioneddippersgirl wrote: ↑Thu 04 Feb 2021 10:26 amWe do want more choices really!! We have a firestick and pay for netflix

Have a wee look at https://www.smartdnsproxy.com/ You can get a 14 day free trial to see if it works for you. I've been using it for over 2 years now and find it very good, but I neither have Firestick or Netflix, so can't comment on if it would be suitable for your needs. I know that the Firestick works with UK tv channels BBC, ITV etc.

Re: VPN - saw this link - what do you think
I agree with alphamike. I have been using a dns service for a while now to watch UK catch up TV without an issue. The service I am with sadly are no longer accepting new members but as he says the service he is using does the same job. I have managed to use that service along with the free trial on my neighbours Firestick without a problem and it is under two quid a month after that or was when her free trial ended.
Very often some of the vpn's will not work with BBC and ITV and as also said they can slow down your internet speed which is the last thing you need watching via a Firestick.

I will be in touch, although Chris is the one who knows how to set it up on Fire Stick, so he might nicely agree to help you out.

By all means message me and I will see if I can help. I have done quite a few set ups for friends with the Firestick and of late DNS services so happy to see if I can assist if you like.

Hi all
Don’t know if anyone has received the same message from NordVPN , if you have did you follow the instructions ( have not included them in this post ) and was it straight forward ?
“Our servers are configured to block the outgoing SMTP port 25 in order to discourage the customers from using our service for spamming purposes. Could you please use alternative ports 465 or 587 as an outgoing SMTP port instead for your connection? “
Thanks for reading
