Old phone use and new tax rules

Good afternoon,

I have had my phone stolen and am now waiting to get back it back from the Police, which is good thing. In the meantime, I have an old phone I used here for around 2 months about 2 years ago. Will this still work for now or would I have to run around Lefkosa and pay tax etc.

Please advise, thanks, A

The answer is probably 'Yes'

It maybe that if you were to top up the phone there will be a period of grace for you to get the phone registered and your phone will have been recovered from the Police before any imposed deadline. I would say though to get some definitive verification from Turkcell, or other provider. before you pay for the top up.

Been into Turkcell this morning. Hubby has just taken over a Motorola of mine (3 years old) Nothing to pay other than 9tl for a new SIM card as old one was a bit squiffy. The number remains the same. No probs at all re tax or registration.
