I was interested in reading the Post about the Aligator system
I have personally purchased a Floatron
Both units are for producing ions that are pH neutral, non-corrosive and have no effect on the human body.
The two major differences that I can see, is with the Floatron you do not need to alter any pipe work, secondly they work on Solar energy ( plenty of that in TRNC),
The draw backs if there is one, that this unit floats in the pool, but your can remove it when your swimming, and you have to do a PH test yourself
I was wondering if anybody had else had a Floatron and what there verdict was

I have used a floatron for 3 years. We brought it with us from the UK when we moved over. Seems to work ok with our pool, we seem to use very little chlorine ( I use the slow release tablets).

Re: Aligator Or Floatron who comes out on top
The most important difference is that the Aligator is mains powered and can cope with pools of up to 150,000 litres, come rain or shine. The Floatron is solar powered with a very small pV cell and is only as effective as the amount of sunshine that it gets. Consequently, the Floatron can need backing-up with chlorine or similar.ozonkoyboy wrote:I was interested in reading the Post about the Aligator system

You will always need to do a pH test but you should also be testing for copper.
