As of today, when I click on an article in the Daily Telegraph on-line, I get a notice to say that I can only access DT articles if I subscribe. Is this genuine or a scam?

I have been looking at Telegraph articles this morning and it was the same as usual ... I do hope the Telegraph doesn't go the way of the Times!!

Oops! Have just noticed my spelling mistake in the Subject line - should have been Daily, not Dailty! Note to self - always use the spell checker.

Further to my Msg 1, it is when I am using Chrome browser that I am unable to read articles without subscribing. When I use Firefox browser I have no problems!!

I read (or used to) the Telegraph online using Firefox, and it has started asking me for money-No I don't think it's a scam.
It appears that they have indeed gone the same way as the Times.
I find there is still some decent choice of online broadsheets-The Guardian,Independent, and I am finding the 'Huffington post' quite interesting.

I just tried it with Firefox and had no problem. Could it be something to do with where you are? IE, outside Europe. Just a thought.

I have a VPN so being outside the UK should not be a problem. It appears to be irregular - no probs sometimes, then at other times it asks me to subscribe.

last time I logged on I got a pop-up message saying I was only allowed X number of free articles in a month.
This may be why some are getting the message and others not-though I agree a vpn would seem to be the answer.
I wil have a bash later with expat shield on and report back
