DHL-what address to put on.

Hi.
I've never sent anything to Northern Cyprus via DHL before.
Do I just put on 'Mersin 10' or do I need to make it clear that it's for N. Cyprus?
I rang DHL customer service centre who told me they haven't got N. Cyprus down as a delivery destination.
These documents are really important so I need to get it right first time.

Thanks in anticipation.

Ring the local DHL agent and ask them.

Address your package to their office using the address which they know works, and then collect it from them when it arrives.

Make sure that your TRNC 'phone number is displayed on the package so that they can contact you.

Unfortunately I'm stuck in the UK and the documents need to be delivered to an office in the TRNC.
I can't get any sense out of DHL. I've talked to two people there and got nowhere.

Can you use Skype?

... even if not, ring the local (trnc) office from UK, - no matter what it costs - and ask them how to address the package!

I don't see what's stopping you!

A quick search of this forum will provide the contact details...

That looks about right to me Dalartokat, thank you for that!

As the OP has emphasised the importance of this package, I think that I would still advise speaking to the local TRNCoffice and using the address that they know actually works!

I've looked that up and the phone number looks a bit strange. It doesn't look like a normal TRNC number?
I'm happy to ring them. Maybe UK could give me a number to ring. You'd think it would be easy!!

DHL couriered two passports to me a couple of weeks ago
The package was addressed thus;

Name
Home address
Lapta
Girne
99300
Turkey.

On delivery the courier rang me and we met up in Lapta.

Hope this helps.

You don't need Mersin on it these days just the post code of the village where it is to be delivered. We were told this yesterday by the staff in the office at Catalkoy who are agents for DHL.

I use them on a regular basis. The address is. Your home address and local phone number here and . DHL Industrial Area, 22 street, Number 6 99010 Turkey.

The driver or the office can then call you to arrange delivery . ( no need to drive to Lefkosa to collect) . Our place is a bit awkward to find , so I normally meet him at a well known landmark nearby. I have found their service to be first rate.

Except one occasion when the office in the UK wrote Cyprus and it went to the South side.

According to this, Alsancak is either 99350 or 99360 (scroll down to page 5 for specific areas), while Lapta is in the 994xx range....

Well it's on its way now.

I put on Mersin 10 but when the label printed out at DHL it printed North Cyprus and had the code for Ercan-ECN.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Tracking our envelope was great until it got to Istanbul then just stopped.
It's a bit nerve wracking but I understand that flights in and out of Ercan must be few and far between these days.
I'll try to be patient.

When the latest flight restrictions were announced they put mine on the Thursday flight and I took delivery on the Friday. You'll be fine.

Thanks for your vety reassuring comments.
They're really important documents which normally we would have brought over-but obviously not possible at present.

If you are using Royal Mail tracking, what is the best address?

Hi.
I've been waiting very patiently for my documents to be delivered to our solicitor in Girne-but no sign of them.
I contacted DHL who don't seem to have any clue as to where they are. They will 'look into it'.
They cost me over £200 in solicitors fees etc here in the UK.
Previous to that we spent 15 nights in Turkey trying to get to N. Cyprus without quarantine-but they changed the rules right before we flew there.
We can't do quarantine because of my health problem. I must walk for at least half an hour every day.
Any ideas on how to get documentation to the TRNC?

Frustrated to say the least.

Earlier this year i ordered a bank card to be delivered by dhl cost me 18.99 postage never recieved it after 4 weeks allowing for the covid thing which was at it height then i got in touch with bank who them gave me the tracking number. I had given them my phone no address for delivery etc still nothing , then i checked on tracking said it had been waiting for pick up which had not happened and had been sent back to sender. I had no phone call to say where to pick it up or anything.

My documents have shown up in Customs in Istanbul. They got to Istanbul on 3/10 then 'disappeared'.
On the 9/10 they appeared in Customs and yesterday 10/10 they were still in customs.
I realise things are difficult due to Covid but this is eight days in Istanbul now.
At least they're showing up on the tracking system now.

Has anyone had anything delivered by DHL in the past few weeks?

It almost three weeks since we sent some really important documents but they never got further than Istanbul.

According to DHL they have no idea when (or if) they will get there.

No flights apparently-but surely they send stuff on passenger flights?

There was a post about this on Facebook today posted by Expats Consiltancy Service which I have copied for you here..........

DHL service to the north.

Havva has spoken to DHL head office in Lefkosa and they confirm that there are no planes in to the North at present that are bringing in Cargo.

This means that no DHL packages will arrive in the North until flight numbers are increased and are allowed to carry cargo. They do not know when this will be.

We will keep you all updated

In the comments o. The post someone suggested using KMR logistics instead. This was their comment........

If you put it in a box, KMR Logistics will bring it overland - it’s £30 and mine took less than 2 weeks, though they quote 30 days.

Hope you manage to get your documents ok.

Dont know if this will interest you, but i had a bank card delivered recently - it was sent to ozay's car service - he has things sent to his post box in the south and will deliver it to the north. it took 7-10 days to receive the card; no problem. obviously there is a charge by ozy, but worth it in my view.
just in case his phone number is 05338656305 if you want an alternative. he also has a website if you're interested in getting on to it.

Thank you Helen.

I would certainly use Ozy if I could get my stuff back fro DHL in Istanbul.
It was paperwork put together by my solicitor then sent for approval to the TRNC Consulate in London then sent via DHL -it cost well over £200.
If DHL can't deliver stuff in a timely fashion then they should return it to sender.
They have given one ridiculous untrue excuse after another.
I am disgusted with them.
