Air con units?
Can anyone please tell me where I can buy and have fitted an air con unit? A well known supplier near me, his prices have shot up.

Mr Pipe in Karakum are doing deals on Bosch air con units, according to their Facebook ads. 12000 btu inverter for under 4000TL.

Re: Air con units?
Purchased some inverter zircon units last year. On looking at brand deals I was advised by my usual fitter to check if units had R32 or R410 gas system. The R32 are more efficient and energy saving. On asking supplier on brand that I was interested in, I was told it was R410.
Fitter explained that many companies are having sales to off load the older aircon units, probably manufacture between 2 and 5 years.
Search on google: "What is the difference between r32 and r410?"
Thought this may be of some useful info for anyone considering purchasing new units.

I guess the devaluation of the Lira has taken its toll. I've seen lots of ads on FB and they seemed to be the cheapest but perhaps they are old stock as Soner says.Mollie the cat wrote: ↑Sat 22 May 2021 5:21 pmThank you for that however, the same unit from them last year was 2700 TL!come_on_aylin wrote: ↑Sat 22 May 2021 2:58 pmMr Pipe in Karakum are doing deals on Bosch air con units, according to their Facebook ads. 12000 btu inverter for under 4000TL.

Are you taking into account the change in exchange rate?Mollie the cat wrote: ↑Sun 23 May 2021 9:50 amLess that 400 yards away, thats where I called in at yesterday, I bought the same air con from him last year 2,700 now 4,000 thats some increase.

2700/8,30 = 325 GBP, 4000/ 12 = 333 GBP. increase 8 GBP.Mollie the cat wrote: ↑Sun 23 May 2021 9:50 amLess that 400 yards away, thats where I called in at yesterday, I bought the same air con from him last year 2,700 now 4,000 thats some increase.

Re: Air con units?
Mollie, Soner makes a valid point, 4000tl works out to about £340 - which in my humble opinion, is a good price for a fully fitted Bosch Inverter unit. However if your income is in lira and not pounds that last point is not very helpful - sorry.
The unit I bought was 3700tl last Jan. - so a modest increase considering what the lira has done since then.
Not sure if these current units are the same spec though.... but the one I bought has a "follow me" button which is pretty amazing. When pressed the remote becomes the thermostat. So when placed next to you, it is the temp where you are that is used - instead of the built in thermostat in the unit - which is about 8 feet high!!!!

Re: Air con units?
I scrolled back through Mr Pipes' adverts for last year, on 28th Feb they were advertised at ₺2790 (wish I had spotted that price) as MTC said but by 19th May, as would be expected coming into the air con season, they had increased to ₺3490, on 19th Feb this year ₺3680 (low season) and yesterday ₺3950.kibsolar1999 wrote: ↑Sun 23 May 2021 11:35 amthere is no price increase.Mollie the cat wrote: ↑Sun 23 May 2021 10:47 amThanks for the replies everyone, I guess I will have to suck up the price increase.
I have no connection with Mr Pipe and have never been a customer, I've just been looking as we may be in the market ourselves. Moral of story is buy in Feb.

Re: Air con units?
With respect how do you work that out? If I have say 5000 tl under my bed for the last two years and decide to spend it on an air con, last year I paid 2,700 this year almost 4,000 why is that no increase, unless you went to a different maths class to mine?kibsolar1999 wrote: ↑Sun 23 May 2021 11:35 amthere is no price increase.Mollie the cat wrote: ↑Sun 23 May 2021 10:47 amThanks for the replies everyone, I guess I will have to suck up the price increase.
