The ATM outside Credit West at the end of the by-pass
Contrary to the message which appears on the screen it does respond but slowly.
1. Put card in, and do all the usual.
2. "Please wait" comes on the screen and it stays on for what seems ages.
3. Suddenly a message across the tops saying "there is no response" and you think either card or ATM on the blink.
4. Worry not, just press the GIRIS button and carry on as usual.
Two of us had the same problem, both using Halifax cards but I don't believe it's the card. Maybe Halifax UK won't know I've withdrawn cash!!! Not likely is it?

I've had this issue at Near East atms but with a Garanti card.

I had this issue at a Limasol Bank ATM last week. Just waited an age and then it finally responded. I was withdrawing Lira with a Wise card.

Me too Forest. Near East do it with my Starling card so I don't know if they accept it or not and am not willing to try it and risk losing the card as getting another one out here will be a tad difficult.

I was like you forest pixie until it dawned on me that all I had to do was walk into the bank and get the card back. I don't know why it seems to be happening more and more, but I won't hesitate at Credit West or any ATM which is in wall of a bank. I have told CW but they seemed to be aware.

Yes Deniz1 you mentioned that in an earlier thread, but my point in this thread was, at Credit West next to Alpet Garage is you don't have to take the message at face value. Just press Giris and it carries on as normal.

Ah I don't tend to use ones outside banks, just roadside ones. I tried 3 in Lefkoşa last week all in a row, 1 gave that message, 1 was broken, 1 had run out of cash! Got there in the end though.benjaminbutton wrote: ↑Mon 16 Aug 2021 5:21 pmI was like you forest pixie until it dawned on me that all I had to do was walk into the bank and get the card back. I don't want to lose my card and its one from here, mainly because I don't have enough years remaining trying to get help at Garanti. The only thing they can guarantee is a long wait!

Thats why I only use atms at a bank so I can go in and get my card back pronto.
