Hi poppy++1,
If I got these emails, I would delete them instantly, then empty Trash/Deleted Items. Immediately!
Problems can only start, when you open them, then open attachments.

Thank you Navek
I dont open things I'm not sure of, and never open attachments.
Not had anything like this before with no information other than the unintelligible markings.
I have marked a spam and deleted
Thank you again

Re: Is this SPAM
I'd agree with that Navek, but also delete from your, "Recover items recently removed from this folder", link at the top of your Deleted Items folder (in the case of a Microsoft 365 account ).
That said, perhaps an IT savvy someone on here would know if simply deleting an e-mail would confirm to the sender that the e-mail address is active? For example would they receive and "E-mail deleted without being read" message, in the same way that opening an e-mail also confirms the e-mail address is active, even if you don't open any attachments within it.

Re: Is this SPAM
I have reported to
[email protected]
Had to screen shot and paste as you have to forward, and that means opening it !!!!!!!!!
Would be interested in MnM question "if simply deleting an e-mail would confirm to the sender that the e-mail address is active?"
I have since had two more from differant addresses, reported as spam and deleted.
Thank you

I am getting them too, I have had 5 so far, all deleted, and from the bin. All different foreign sounding names, and a load of numbers, have not opened any just deleted. Only one went to my spam folder, all the other to my inbox. I wonder if someone is using email addresses from this site, just a thought.

Re: Is this SPAM
Very strange but I think there must be some kind of link between the people getting them, maybe some Facebook page.

Re: Is this SPAM
Not had any like Poppy's (Yet) but interestingly I have had over the last couple of days to a couple of email accounts the following few emails -
Sender -
Facebook
85120075 is your Facebook account recovery...
and
96023575 is ...
When hovered over, the sender appears as
"[email protected]"
but there's no guarantee that it is....
Tagged as spam and then deleted, as neither account is linked to any FB account...
Only senders known (and checked by hovering) get opened; all else is deleted.

Re: Is this SPAM
Opening or not opening an email does not send anything back to the sender - unless they have asked for an acknowledgement that you’ve received it and you click to send such an acknowledgement.
However a sender can imply that the email address is valid (not necessarily active) if the email does not bounce back with a message saying the mail was not delivered for some reason.
Just delete ANY suspicious messages you’re not expecting - especially if it contains gibberish.
If it says it comes from a particular address then that’s no guarantee that it was actually sent from that address. This is known as spoofing.
As jofra says some email clients allow you to put your mouse cursor on the purported address and you’ll see if it matches what it says.
For more tech savvy people it is possible to see all the email “headers”.
If you wish to do so these can be analysed by on-line header analysers e.g. https://mxtoolbox.com/EmailHeaders.aspx

Jofra, this is evidence of somebody trying to hack/gain access to your email account... unless it was you.jofra wrote: ↑Mon 25 Apr 2022 7:22 pmNot had any like Poppy's (Yet) but interestingly I have had over the last couple of days to a couple of email accounts the following few emails -
