Re: Water restrictions
I think you will find there are water shortages everywhere at the moment as the pipe from Turkey was broken some months ago and will not be fixed until, I think July or August so everywhere is being rationed, ours goes off every weekend, and maybe comes on two or three times if we are lucky during the week. We are in Ozankoy/ Bellapais. The situation is back to what it was before the pipeline, unfortunately.

Re: Water restrictions
Actually, I think that a response from someone in the area in question might be more relevant - I'm in Alsancak, not Lapta, and we're currently not experiencing any shortages.
Of course, Lapta and Alsancak do each have their own independent local sources of water, which is why I think that a reply from someone in the immediate area might be more help!

Re: Water restrictions
Agree with what KC has said, would be more helpful if someone in your area can reply.
Also as per MrsGee's message, am in Tatlisu and the Bele are definitely really turning down the water pressure at times. It's not normally a big deal, other than when trying to shower or using the washing machine.

Re: Water restrictions
Sorry i was not helpful KC... if you are not experiencing shortages, then you are very fortunate. the fact is if you go past the dam you can see the water level has gone down drastically, and will continue to do so.... until the pipe is fixed.... but who am I to say.... i am irrelevant in your opinion as i am not in the area.... just trying to help, no need to say my response was not 'relevant'. have a nice day.Keithcaley wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jun 2020 2:13 pmActually, I think that a response from someone in the area in question might be more relevant - I'm in Alsancak, not Lapta, and we're currently not experiencing any shortages.

We're in Karsiyaka and our water is off quite often lately, it''s been off for two days this week alone.

Re: Water restrictions
Am sure that KC wasn't meaning that at all MrsGee, same as I wasn't. It is very relevant that there are water shortages everywhere, and each Bele seem to treat things differently, whether by cutting supplies or lowering pressure. However, if there is a water pipe burst in the area which hasn't been reported or fixed, then it probably will have an effect on properties in the area.

Re: Water restrictions
That leaves me free to say to you, mrsgee, that I meant no disrespect, and that I actually never said that you or your opinion 'was irrelevant' - I was pointing out that you are in a completely different area, that the various municipalities have their own, local water sources that they can draw on when the main reservoir runs dry, and that a response from someone who is in the immediate area of the OP might be MORE relevant in this situation...
Please don't go off in a huff because you imagined an insult which did not actually exist.

Like I said I have no more to say on the subject.... I will not get drawn into a petty debate or exchange, I gave my opinion, end of. Signing out Mrs Huffy from Bellapais.

Re: Water restrictions
There is another factor which hasn't been mentioned - some people have reported that Lapta Belediyesi seem to be having issues with the 'new' water meters.
The op's problem could be related...
Probably best to contact the Belediye and ask!

Re: Water restrictions
Hi terry2366, I am nr the Hos Bes so not far from there and we have had no specific water problems although the pressure does vary from day to day, sometimes only a trickle and other times full pressure. You haven't said what problems you're experiencing?

Hi Medjoul the pressure is very low and takes all day to fill the tank.

Re: Water restrictions
This refers to Çamlibel rather than Lapta, so is of more general interest, Posted on the Lapta Belediyesi Facebook page yesterday at 13:02 -
"Due to the failure caused by the gecitkoy pump station, camlibel can not be given water. Water is expected to be given in the evening."

Re: Water restrictions
terry2366 - think I'd prefer a slow drip (sorry KC) and know tank was slowly been filled, rather than 2 or 3 day without any at all.

Re: Water restrictions
Back to the subject....!. water is still coming at good pressure in Akdeniz, which is a surprise if its off at Camlibel which I
would have thought is downstream. Yesterday was good as well.

Re: Water restrictions
Water pressure is now fine in Karsiyaka (ours anyway). Maybe they've switched the pipework back to the old system. There should be plenty to tap into if it hasn't been used for a good while.

Re: Water restrictions
KC I believe you could wind up and offend a giant corkscrew maybe just by looking at it.
I might also add that you have perpetuated this thread by posting at least 5 totally irrelevant comments (something I might add you seemed to Castigate another member for!) which have nothing to do with the original question (as I am doing now!).
Maybe wind it in a little as opposed to winding people up a lot?
Even your latest response to me is childish and irrelevant!
I may be going the way of many others Soner.....over and off board.
