We have a Samsung smart TV and a separate Soundbar.
I normally start the TV with AppleTV and then the Soundbar with a special remote control.
All of a sudden, with no one around, both the TV and the Soundbar start up.
Please explain how this can happen! I do'nt understand anything

Try changing the remote control batteries. I know it sounds unlikely but they can often generate weird signals that cause random problems

Hi guys,
and thanks for the tip. Still strange as I have a controller for the TV and another for the Soundbar.

Bit of a long shot but do you have a facility on your TV Guide to schedule future reminders or recordings? I have 2 Sony Bravias in the UK and if within the Freesat TV Guide or Freeview Play Guide i set a reminder and then watch a different channel, both the TV's change channel automatically for the reminder I've set. But in addition to that though, if i set a reminder and forget about it and have an early night and turn the TV off, it switches on for the reminder - AND stays on after. I came down in the morning a few times and found the lounge TV on and got woken up by the bedroom TV a few times in the middle of the night before i realised what was happening.
