Re: RESIDENCY
Photo copy of passport, bank statement, copy of rental contract or purchase contract, original muhtars letter two passport photos, if you have crossed to the greek side the white slip stamped by the turkish border guard. Sometimes they ask for a marriage certificate. Think thats it.

Re: RESIDENCY
Go to the local police station any morning to file your application , and then you go to Nicosia about 3 weeks later. if it is your first time you will need to go for a blood test etc (depending on age). why not take a lookat the BRS web page as it has all the info you require.

Re: RESIDENCY
When I went to the police for first time temporary residency, I was told I had to go to a notary to get a statement signed by my partner to say that he would let me live in the house with him, despite our rental agreement being in both names! Plus I was charged 50TL for the privilege. No-one had advised me of this and having spoken to several friends who are not married to their partners, found this was something they had never been asked to do. Is this a new development or just a case of the policeman giving his Notary friend some business at my expense?

Re: RESIDENCY
Google British Residents Association, scroll down to the entry that mentions Cyprus. Click on heading "Living here" then if you can read it, because of the Credit West bank advertising crossing the screen look down the left hand side, for the heading residency, click and good luck!!!

Re: RESIDENCY
Not to be picky but it's 10.5tl not 11tl for stamps. I got caught out by the dodgy advice on here and haven't been able to sleep since!
